Greener credentials for UCEM
University College of Estate Management (UCEM) asked us to produce promotional material highlighting its’ genuine sustainability credentials. In response, we designed an intricate 32-page foldout brochure, which centred around a cutaway CGI of their new Reading home, Horizons.
The Horizons project achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating as one of the first buildings certified against the BREEAM 2014 refurbishment and fit-out scheme (fewer than 30 buildings have been certified to date).
BREEAM is the world’s most established rating tool for green buildings, used by more than 500,000 buildings around the world. BREEAM rates the sustainability of the design and construction of a building providing a rating of Pass up to Excellent and Outstanding against a vast range of criteria including materials, water, waste, pollution, energy, health and wellbeing, transport, ecology and the overall management of the process design and construction process.
Following the overall success of the literature, interest has grown amongst alumni and staff of UCEM, who now wish to develop an interactive fly-through to use as an interactive learning tool. We are currently involved in exciting discussions with UCEM and our collaborators, ICM digital media, and expect to start work on the project in the coming months.
